SVKM’s College of Agriculture, Shirpur, features modern smart classrooms designed to enhance interactive learning. Each classroom is air-conditioned and equipped with digital smart boards, high-speed internet, and ergonomic seating. Individual charging ports at every desk ensure students can use electronic devices seamlessly. This tech-enabled environment fosters engaging, and effective education.
The total area of the school is 117 acres which is being utilized for various farm activities and building infrastructure.
The major establishments are Agrometeorological observatory, orchard, agroforestry block, crop cafeteria, seed production block and student farm.
Agrometeorological observatory is a place where all the instruments are maintained to observe and record different weather elements/parameters at stipulated time interval. In our Agriculture farm we are also having B-type agrometeorological observatory, where various instruments are maintained. Which facilitates to measure maximum & minimum air temperature, soil temperature, wind direction, wind speed, sunshine duration, rainfall and evaporation rate etc.
Orchard is established in an area of 6 acres with around 550 saplings of various fruit crops. The planting was done in monsoon 2022. Majority of the planting was done by the students. Alongside planting of Agro-Forestry saplings was also taken up in about 15-acre land.
OWith 169 plants, we have established three major types of agroforestry systems in our college
farm:
Crop cafeteria is the demonstration of identified efficient crops and varieties in an agrometeorological region offering an opportunity to the farmer to choose a suitable crop and variety. In our Agriculture farm crop cafeteria is developed every year in kharif and rabi season. Crop cafeteria facilitates to conduct student’s practical classes for identification of crop, study of morphological description of crops and to check the suitability and performance of a various crops & their different varieties in that particular region. Students can improve their skill by engaging themselves in various operations such as field preparation, layout, seed treatment, sowing, intercultultural operations, nutrient management, water management, weed management, disease & pest management, harvesting, threshing, post-harvest care and yield estimation, and they can learn real agriculture and can become perfect agriculturist.
School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SAST) has taken an initiative for seed production of improved varieties in collaboration with Nirmal Seeds Pvt. Ltd. and MAHABEEJ at our agriculture farm. The aim of this program is to understand the requirements of farmers, challenges in the commercial seed production and to make available the quality seeds to farmers. This is also providing an opportunity for students to get a hands on and get industry ready. The seed production program involves the multiplication of foundations seeds of improved varieties of pigeon pea, black gram, green gram and soybean of from MAHABEEJ and Nirmal Seeds Pvt. Ltd. in 40 acres of land.
Genetics and Plant Breeding
The aim of the laboratory is to give practical exposure to under and postgraduate students for understanding the modern, conventional and biotechnological approaches on plant breeding and seed production of field, vegetable and horticultural crops. Special emphasis is given at research, which is approaching plant breeding by an holistic viewpoint, including the employment of modern technologies and applications such as the marker-assisted selection, breeding for resistance etc. In addition, the laboratory covers all essential aspects of plant propagation technology, including seed physiology and seed technology and seed storage.
Plant Pathology deals with the study of Plant diseases, their causal organisms and recommends the disease-management to farmers.
The laboratory is well equipped to receive and maintain plant material in isolation for the identification and diagnosis of various diseases caused by plant pathogens (bacteria, fungi etc.) in agricultural and horticultural crops.
We are also training the students for mushroom cultivation for developing entrepreneur skills. The laboratory has wide range of latest equipments like Camera Integrated Research Microscopes, Laminar Air Flow, Autoclave, Incubator, Hot Air Oven, Water bath & Centrifuge.
This laboratory useful for conducting the soil science practicals of undergraduate students. This laboratory also offers the Soil, Plant and water analysis services for the farmers and giving the training and on farm demonstration in soil, plant and water quality assessment. Entomology is the science of study about the insects and their ecology so that the harmful pests could be managed by using integrated pest management strategies. The Language Laboratory with audio-visual installation aids in language teaching using state-of-the art technologies to prepare the students with high order soft skills to be successful at job interviews and in their career. The institute has set up a well-equipped language lab with advanced Words Worth English Language Lab software to make our students competent in communication skills to be the best professionals in any field to serve society.

Residential campus with world class amenities & infrastructure, situated on the bank of Tapi River. Out station students getting admission at NMIMS Shirpur Campus must seek an admission to Hostel. Utmost care is taken to accommodate all students. The hostel has its own discipline and rules applicable on all resident students.

An exclusive facility (Parents Meeting) is provided in Boys hostel (common for Boys and girls) for meeting with student’s parent. It is laced with latest television for entertainment, super cooling air conditioners etc.
Separate hostel facilities are available for Boys and Girls. The MPSTME, Shirpur campus hostel has been constructed to provide a safe and congenial atmosphere to the students. Airy rooms are luxuriously furnished. Water coolers with purified drinking water, TV and senior faculty member as Rector-Friend-Guide-Philosopher are the exclusive features of the hostel.

Medical Facilities
Campus has tie-up with Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Shirpur. Doctors and specialists of this hospital visit the campus everyday between 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm. In emergency the students are transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital under the supervision of medical attendant.
Fitness and Gym
The state-of-the-art gym and swimming facilities at R.C Patel Gymkhana is helping students for their fitness. Also bank facility at campus extends other services of nationalized banks.
Transport
Transport facility to Shirpur for boys and girls and strict monitoring by campus administration is prohibiting students from going to wrong places. To ensure safety and security and avoid unnecessary movement of student to Shirpur town, most of the services were made available at campus stores.
Library
The College has a library covering essential books covering agriculture sector. In addition, a collection is also available for preparing the students for competitive examinations, overall personality development, language improvement and entertainment.
